The Camellia Center’s Student Leadership Council (SLC) offers University of Alabama students the opportunity to hone and cultivate their leadership skills through rigorous volunteering opportunities. The Camellia Center plans and implements several volunteer and leadership initiatives throughout each academic year. Members of the Student Leadership Council will be vital participants in the promotion and execution of the Camellia Center’s mission to cultivate a campus environment that values holistic well-being, safety, inclusion, leadership, mentorship, and collaboration.
Each Fall the Camellia Center Student Leadership Council welcomes new members and offers them a curriculum-based 10-week training.” This training includes:
- Identifying and researching holistic well-being topics
- Event planning
- Partnerships and working in coalition
- Marketing and messaging
- Facilitating/hosting events
- Evaluating your programs and events
Each Spring, newly trained members will join previously trained members to develop and offer SLC programming and support Camellia Center efforts.
